helo, have been enjoying the joys of our motorhome since 2004 and are still
learning. At present we have tag axle autotrail, but would like to venture into the
world of american rv"s. Any advice would be gratefully accepted, we have been
looking at the different shapes and sizes and the only thing we have made a definate decision about is the length no more than 30 ft. We like to meander around France and have been in some sticky situations with our 28ft Bessie:cry:
so 30ft is our limit to start!! and then who knows!!::bigsmile:
catch u later el&tel:winky:

Hi Ellen to narrow your search down you need to consider a few things like, what weight does your licence allow you to drive? Diesel or petrol, Slides, A class, or C and of course most important your budget.::bigsmile:

Most newish 30' A class will be on or above 7.5t, above, especially if they have slides, most if not all C class will be under whether they have slides or not.

Diesels are noisier but do perhaps 30% more to the gallon, unless you have an LPG conversion done to the petrol at a cost of £2000-£3000
Forget what the salesman tells you, on petrol you will struggle at any weight to get more than about 12mpg on petrol, on Diesel 15-18mpg

Slides add to complexity and weight but give much more room when on site.

Hope some of that helps, welcome to the site, plenty of good advice on here.:thumb:
