=While in lockdown if I connect EHU cable to m/h to keep all batteries charged on a weekly basis do I need to switch control panel on in m/h or leave them off. Also I have on/off switch on passenger seat I assume for the 2 Leisure batteries should I switch it off.

You'll find a simple test meter (less than £15) very useful now and in the future.
To check whether the batteries are charging.................
When the EHU has not been used for a couple of hours check each battery voltage with nothing at all switched on and the meter probes direct on the battery terminal posts. No need to disconnect the battery. The voltage of fully charged and good condition battery will be about 13 Volts or lower*.

Then connect the EHU and (with nothing switched on) check the battery voltage again. The voltage should greater (around 14 Volts) than it was with the EHU off.

* The more discharged is the battery the greater will be the voltage difference between EHU Off and EHU On.

Re. your point 2........
If there's no voltage difference you can then fiddle with the switch(es) to see if the voltage readings change.

I'm not familiar with your motorhome (Adria Compact, it says in your avatar) but I'd guess that the on/off switch is an isolator switch for the leisure batteries. If it is, then no charger or load will be connected to the battery when it is off.

Usually the switch on the control panel switches off most of the loads, but leaves some permanently connected ones on, like the frost protection valve and the fridge control board. That switch is to use for example if you go out from the MH for the day, so you don't come back to find the battery flat because you left something switched on. I'd guess that EHU/solar charging works whether that switch is on or off, but Spriddler has explained a method to find this out for yourself.

Can you reach the battery terminals, or is it one of those that's inaccessible without removing the seat?

Thanks for all your help much appreciated.

Unfortunately the Leisure batteries are under passenger seat so yon have to remove the seat. Mick

Can you access the terminals on the isolator switch? That's the next best place. Also there should be a big fuse near the leisure battery. You can sometimes get the meter probes onto the fuse terminals. Otherwise you'll have to remove the fuse and probe the sockets. That obviously disconnects the leisure battery, so it's not the best option.

Alternatively, the leisure battery wire goes to a distribution box, and the incoming terminal on that box should be accessible

When our Rienza is on hook up we put the power switch to leisure. The battery charger charges the leisure battery. The vehicle battery is topped up by the battery master.
If it’s chilly we put the heater on the lowest setting and the fan on one. It just keeps the edge off the cold.

We have to put our power to on, or the batteries don’t charge (Swift Mondial)
