I thought these were IP66? The connectors that is...

yes, you do get IP66 plugs and sockets ...

some are only IP 64 ( splash proof), check when buying. They look very much the same.

In saying that, I still think it a worth while product, even with IP66

agreed Jim, but best practice is to unplug the HU post first then any subsequent joints.
