Would it be possible to have the post edit time increased from it's current 5 mins.. ?
5 minutes? That's not long enough for my screen to refresh! Sometimes I wished it had been longer, even on the old system.
I thought it was only 3?
dunno.. but it said my time was up for editing after 5 mins..
Agree....why the short time limit.
I need more time to edit change things 15 min is not long enough arrrrrrrrrrrrg
not sure you even have 15 minutes Bill, I heard it was 5
but also once posted I don't think you can change a title at all
total crap ant it I am sure it can be set a bit longer and fully editable surly
I don't think we can edit a title at all after posting, that is frustrating if you miss a typo
also agree could do with longer edit as well
Used to be able to alter the title by clicking edit then go advanced!
Think when in edit mode you can choose "advanced" which will allow title changes...... at least it did in the old version
Has anyone actually checked this? The old forum was set at a 5 minute edit time, with a 1 minute window for editing the title. Right now here its set at twice as long as the old forum. 10 minutes time to edit post and title. Any longer than this can cause a number of issues. If anyone wants specifics edits after that time just report the post and I'll see to it.
I wouldn't ask without checking Jim .. have you tried ?
I went back to try and edit a typo.. Can't recall the exact wording, but in essence it said that only 5 mins were allowed for editing
IIRC .. the old software had a 30 min to edit window ..
I will test again with this post.
@Jim whilst I don't want to query your word, I am confident we had an hour to edit on the old forum
tested again.. have you adjusted it Jim ?
now ten minutes..
No not touched but I'll take a look later today, and check out the settings on the old forum
hop I haven put the cat among the pigeons
I used to find it impossible so used to just go with it I have set up another meet at
Creykes Arms Hotel Rawcliffe Goole culd you pleas ad this to the title thanks bill
Personly I don't like posters editing there posts ,if you make a comment on a post that's just came up it can seem silly if they have suddenly changed what you commented on while you were posting.
I always put a new post on if I think my first one was not right
