Sherrifhall park and ride closes to motorhomes
Height barriers have been introduced into a park and ride facility at Sherrifhall on the outskirts of Edinburgh, meaning that you will no longer be able to park here with your motorhome. We understand that the barriers and the 2m height restriction they entail are in response to concerns over travellers.
Councillor Wilma Chalmers, Cabinet Member with responsibility for the site, said: “The new measures are in response to concerns raised by commuters about the safety of their cars. However, we do realise the park and ride height restrictions now mean people with motorhomes and caravans can no longer park there."
“We think it is important to highlight this change as we understand many people planning a touring holiday in the area will be affected and may have to make alternative arrangements.”
There are no height restrictions at nearby Wallyford Park and Choose.
