Hi, I've fitted (mostly) the Easy Top air assist today to our Auto Sleeper Northants on the Mercedes Sprinter. I followed the instructions and after a bit of thinking it was not too difficult. I have one question though to finish the job off.

The instructions points out that it is important to ensure the bolts on the brackets round the axle are torqued to the right setting, but for the life of me I can't see anywhere in the instructions that tell you what that torque setting is; does anyone who has fitted it know?

I've messaged Easy Top and tried to call but no reply and I want to get the job finished in the morning so I can enjoy a little test drive.

TIA
Mark

If you mean the "U" bolt brackets that hold the axle then googling ."torque settings for mercedes sprinter model xxxxxxxxx fro rear axle U bolts" will bring something up

The OP contacted me as I have recently done this job and my Easytop manual said 25Nm for the lower clamp. Posting here in case it’s helpful to others.

To close this off, I heard back from EasyTop, apparently on the Sprinter there is no specific torque setting for the u-bolts on their kit, he just said "tighten until it needs it". So I went with 45Nm ;-)

Excellent, now how was the test drive?

Test drive is very good thanks, certainly more stable, tried it on country roads and a bit of motorway, very pleased with the results.

It really made a wonderful difference with ours. Inflated to 2bar (no load to speak of in the van) and it laughed at our dreadful roads. No more crashing, more peace and no roll. It’s amazing that such a relatively simple job has such remarkable results.
