Easy Cycling Derbyshire

Off to cycle the Monsal trail and hope to sample some Bakewell pudding at the end of March

Any suggestions of good sites in Derbyshire around this area?

Waterhouses is another, flat and tarmac right to the pub at the end

Excellent site with it's own little bar
2 mile walk into Bakewell town along the river wye.
Ashford in the Water 1/2 mile away with 2 little pubs
Monsal Head 3 miles away - great view point and Pub
Great Longstone 3 miles away - the Packhorse Inn - great beer and food

Oops, just realised, wrong trail.

Wandering around that area a lot I see both one after another and being old and confused group them together. When I was planning taking a relative on the Tissington trail I quickly looked for a way to do Monsal as well and did not come up with an answer, does not mean there is not one. I did see a very low bridge that I noted as a problem in a MH.

There isn't a direct link onto the Monsal Trail from the Tissington Trail - in fact they are separated by quite some way (and a couple of big hills )

From this end of Derbyshire, The Monsal Trail can really only be accessed from Bakewell (the beginning or the end depending ???) and midway to Monsal Head at Hassop Train Station.
