Sorry if this has been covered before. Watching a youtube video on AdvancedRV, (there is another thread running on their B Box,) where they were demonstrating the levellers which could weigh each corner, axle, total weight any time you wanted. I hadn’t heard of this or heard anyone talk about it, wasn’t offered by Mick at SAP when I got mine fitted.
Anyone got this option, any idea of cost or usefulness?

thanks
Bill

Were they E&P on the AdvancedRV? I have not seen any mention of this option with E&P, I thinks its available on the Goldschmidt suspension for Fiat.

Guess the above answers my question (y)

Alko bought E&P back in 2018 but ALKO were the first to bring out self levelling with a weigh function.

It makes sense for them to roll it out through E&P

Cant find anything about weighing on E & P website or SAP 🤔

Bit behind the curve as only fitted E&P in Dec 2021.

Have seen the Utube vid that says its an extra (US Sales)

Have just emailed E&P tech for info and cost, will advise if and maybe when.

I saw the video early last year and I was interested in the weighing option as a retro fit to our E&P system.

I spoke to Rick who used to work for SAP when SAP had a stand last years Peterborough show and he told me that the weighing option had been withdrawn by E&P due to problems with it giving inaccurate readings.

Thanks for the info.

Would think not too difficult to calculate the weight given wheels off ground and the hydraulic system pressure WRT cylinder diameters etc. Force/area
Worst case is individual jack pressures to determine each corner weight.
As Jack's NOT on axle/tyre centres wont be accurate but would be indicative. More so if backed by weighbridge checks

It's very easy to calculate the theoretical weight of a vehicle using the hydraulic system. But it won't be accurate. One of the biggest problems will be "stiction", the seals interaction with the sealing surfaces. Dependent on pressure and construction of the seal the reluctance of the component to move can be appreciable which in turn affects the read out.

I specifically asked Mick about these last year and he told me that he wouldn't fit them because they never came up with the same weight twice, he had been in the position of demonstrating the system at a fair and was embarrassed at their poor performance.

The Goldschmitt is +/-5%, I found by rrecalibraing it several times on a dynamic weighbridge I got it a lot more accurate.
I only use it occasionally for fun as I have enough payload not to have to worry about it.

This system is available for the AL-KO hy4 system, I had it fitted last November but we haven’t had any chance to use the van since so cannot really give a review yet.
