Does anyone have any knowledge if it is possible to revamp/replace/service the internal battery parts of an electric bicycle.
We have two Wayscral 502 bikes, and one is fine, whilst the other loses charge after about 400 metres of use. They are 36Volt 10Amp large slide in battery packs, and the bikes were originally purchased from Norauto in France. The exact model bikes have been discontinued and the batteries are no longer available as spares. They batteries originate from China. (obviously!) The bikes are perfect in every other way, so too good to replace if we can possibly sort out the defective battery.
We are coming to the UK in November, so no problem with UK based business recommendations.
Many thanks
Jim

Yes, try this Company ebikebatteries.co.uk - they do a re-celling service. One of our bikes had an old battery, and they took it apart and put in new cells (of a higher capacity). They also modified the original charger so it would work on the new battery. I was pleased with the service.

Cheers

There are several diy repair videos on youtube, if you fancy repairing it yourself.

We have had our batteries rebuild with a little extra power a couple of years ago when they were getting worn out they work well now, but this was a small business in the UK so no help for you in France, but it does show it can be done.

Many thanks for the recommendations.
Like I said in my original post, I am happy to use a UK company, so any more names would be very welcome.

I tried that with a phone, followed step by step instructions to replace a phone screen, it went from a working screen with a crack to the matrix opening credits, green squiggly lines

Given that lithium batteries like bursting into flames I don't think I'd be following instructions on youtube

They pretty much all use 18650 sized lithium cells. The chemistry has gotten better in the past few years so they are a bit more powerful and a bit less likely to spontaneously combust.

Old tired cells that are swelling are dangerous.
