Before you phone them just confirm that you did send in D2 and D4 forms and ticked the right boxes for those categories, as they do not automatically renew them.

At 70 you automatically lose those categories.

If you renewed on line, as stated above, you will automatically have lost those categories. You need to have a medical, and then submit the forms mentioned above, by post

Had medical ticked all the right boxes but still came back with. C1 d1 missing albial

Did you fill in the D2 eyesight and D4 medical forms,the latter needs to be done by a doctor

Presumably you ticked the box as to retain the c1 entitlement etc.if you did a phone call to the dvla should sort it out.to retain a normal car driving licence you dont need the d2 and d4 forms so dvla should have realised that,probably an admin error.i found them to be quite helpful on the phone.

Mine came up earlier this year, Saw the doc, he passed me A1 and did the necessary on the form D4 filling. Sent it off to the Welsh home for the bewildered. It was sent back because it is no longer acceptable to have the doctor sign for the eye test even if it is still valid (within the last 3 months) it HAS to be the Optician that carried out the test. The whole thing only took them from February to end of July to sort. In that period all I had was a photocopy of my expired licence. Didn't stop me driving though under what they call section 88

You may need a medical to get them put back on as you are over 70
