DVLA. Thanks!

Wonder if you'll feel the same at next renewal when your application disappears into the gap between the floorboards in DVLAs offices and your waiting weeks or months. :whistle2: ::bigsmile:

Come on let someone try to put a good balenced view. Theres more enough of us here to counter with :
it took them 4 months to get my V5 correct.
Edit
Pherhaps they are learning from the passport service. I was impressed with them.

my C1 took a couple of weeks, John's 2nd one the same. His first took about 6 months, but that was a mixture of slow GP response and DVLA changing the way they wanted CPAP to be recorded.

Never had a problem, I've done loads of number plate changes, changing vehicles to historic, getting a V5 from a frame number, a couple of Motor Caravan re-classifications, tax for 5 vehicles, licence renewals.....etc

Mostly on-line these days, but when doing it by post, I always make sure it is sent to the correct address.....

Sent my forms of for my rapidly approaching 70 renewal to keep C1. Sent on Day 1 recorded delivery and new licence received on Day 10. Great service from them.
Cheers
Bernie
Did you send a D4 (medical)?

Transfered a registration number on Monday, new V5 arrived on Friday the same week, no complaints from me.

Passport service is done by the French.
Cheaper to do it there than in the UK.

The French have the contract to print the blue one, actually printed in poland.
Mine is a proper purple one.
Was 2yrs out of date took 3 days
The wifes was 40yrs out of date took 3 weeks no interview.

Applied for my C1 driving licence renewal with medical form D4 on 27th November. Received today 7th December, so an 11 day turnaround. Well pleased :giggle:

DVLA lost my V5 when sent in for the correction of a mistake.

They now have my driving licence for renewal over 70s.

Loosing things down the cracks in the floorboards is nothing new.
My late father in law worked as security for a big well known bank. He. was handed a bunch of cheques that a cleaner found behind a radiator. One of the office staff was dismissed after enquiries.
Maybe DVLA should be sent a well done card when they do get it right.

I didn't renew my HGV medical back in 2010 so when I changed address a couple of years back my C Cat was removed from my licence. Did a medical last month and posted D2 & D4 to the DVLA on 29th Jan. The application was recieved on 1st Feb and I got my licence back today the 10th. I rang them before I posted it to check some details and was told up to 8 week turn around, talk about under promise & over deliver.
