So what's new!

Back in June 2021, it took 5 months for the incompetent w*****s to demand a valid medical form - sent with application, not scanned in by some minimum wage m**** - they would not admit liability for error, so I relinquished my class D license.

The only looser here were the local school kids, as 1 less bus driver to take then to and from school. I was part time as I took early retirement in London and moved to the sticks.

It took 6 months to get my other half’s back after a medical! Horrid feeling not having a licence

I've known drivers to be waiting up to 9 months for DVLA to sort out medical issues - he was still allowed to drive a bus in the meantime - joke was, as he was over 65 he was on yearly D4 medicals.

I know of several other instances of DVLA incompetence.

That was over 6 years ago, showing they have not improved.

Sent mine off a month ago. Heard nothing so far. Licence expires in another month. Section 88 ain't gonna work south of Dover. Perhaps I'll bill them for an all-inclusive somewhere warm and sunny.

From comments made on here by officials from DVLA over the period of Covid with regard to the delay in the processing of D4 licences, all I can say is:
