Hi Folks,

Time is flying in and before we know it the Rally will be upon us, The Guid Nychburris Association have started posting events on their Facebook page so if any of you lot are on FB like their page https://www.facebook.com/Guid-Nychburris-Association-137180649676354/ . For all the folk not on FB I'll try my best to post updates here, they actually run events all week leading up to the Saturday with the ride outs starting soon.

This might be more suited to you lot, I know some of you might be in the area after Millport. You need to collect tickets from town, I will be away on holiday but if anyone books let me know and I'll try and get the picked up.

Below is this years queen of the south (center) and her attendants, although all the girls are lovely looking girls they aren't picked for their looks its what they have achieved in the year at school and personal life.

I will hopefully be visiting the Museum this weekend for a chat and final confirmation of details , I will check to see what space they have and let the reserve list know if we have space.

A few offered their services helping with the rally and I said I'd get back in touch nearer the time, Iv'e forgot who and can't be bothered looking through all the posts. Although I'm planning on this being quite relaxed with a do what you feel like attitude I still have to organise some stuff.

We are hopefully getting the event shelters delivered, again cant remember who by I think they're coming via Debs and David. I could do with help to erect these on the Thursday night once Iv'e confirmed access with the museum.

The Friday night will have the Ghost walk for those interested, everyone else will be free to do as they please.
Saturday day time will look after itself as this is the main event of the week, if you want you can watch the horses from 6am although you wont actually see much. The queen is crowned at the Plainstanes Midsteeple around 11am will confirm, after this the high street will have various things happening although most folk go to the pub. Then you have the parade at 5pm which last a couple of hours max, after this I would advise heading back to the rally as the pubs will be jam packed.

On the Saturday night it will be a get together in the event shelters or room, I was planning on a quiz for Saturday night. If anyone would like some music please bring along your instruments or Karaoke.

On Sunday will do the usual bacon rolls so could do with a volunteer or two for this, plus some small portable cookers. We have one for a start , Sunday night again for those who are left it will be a gathering in the shelters.

Monday I could do with assistance on taking the shelters down.

Hi Lorger, we have a double gas griddle that we can bring to do the bacon , runs of camping gaz and I have a full cylinder for it. Also have single one that runs on the disposable gas cylinders.(have several cans for it )
Jen and I don't mind doing the bacon on Sunday morning.

BUT please let me know if you will want this before 6 June as we run it off bullfinch on the van and I’ll need to pack separate gas and adapter if it’ll be needed . We leave home on 7th to head off for a couple of weeks and are taking the rally in as part of the trip.

If you want the honest answer I'm not sure as I haven't done this before, if its not in your way and you dont mind bringing it that would be great. Then at least we'd have the option to use it, if it would be in the way then dont bother as I'm sure we'll manage.

I know we have a few weeks to go but due to my holidays next week i thought I'd try and get things done.

Here are the directions to the Aviation museum, if coming from the South, East or West then you need to get on the A75 and follow these directions.

From the junction of the A75 with the A701, head north on the A701 for about 0.5 miles. At the roundabout with the Tinwald Downs Road, turn right onto Tinwald Downs Road. Follow the Tinwald Downs Road for about 1 mile until you reach the museum on your left.

If coming from the North then exit the M74 on to the A701 until the roundabout and turn left (first exit) onto Tinwald downs road then as above.

For SatNav users: our post code is DG1 3PH.

We will be allowed a few vans in on the Thursday, I know a few of you asked about this so if you can let me know whos interested I will give the museum numbers to make sure its ok. I think about a dozen but will confirm.
