Autosleeper Cotswold
I've got an Autosleeper Cotswold EB based on Peugeot Boxer 2010.

The Sargent panel says the outside temperature is minus 29.8C. It has always said that since I got the van in February. Probably not an issue but I would like to get it working.

Assuming it's a faulty sensor. Does anyone know where the sensor is, where I might get one and if it's an easy job?

I think I read n/s door mirror
I'm sure others will confirm
That sensor is for the engine and depending on the outside temperature certain adjustments are made to the engine timing I doubt that the same sensor is used for the sergeant control panel. A call to Sargent, who are very helpful would confirm or otherwise. An easy alternative would be to hold an ice cube on the mirror sensor and see if the control panel reading changes.

It could just be disconnected? I'm guessing that the sensor will have its own two-pin connector on the back of the panel. Can you get the panel off to take a look?

Thanks for replies. I could disconnect it but I don't think there's any point as it's not causing a problem. It's just showing an incorrect reading. I'll phone Sargent. It will be interesting to find out where the sensor is located.

I meant that the sensor might be disconnected from the back of the panel. So it might be an easy fix.

Phoned Sargent twice but got cut off both times! After waiting in the queuing system the line just went silent. So have emailed them. When I find out where the sensor is located and what the replacement cost is I will update this thread.

Found out from Sargent that the fault is most likely the sensor or a wiring connection. They can supply the sensor for £18 which includes vat and postage - seems quite reasonable! They cannot tell me where it is located as they just supply the system to manufacturer's and it is up to them where they install it.

I'm in the Autosleepers Owners Club so have emailed them to ask if they know where the sensor is fitted. Someone on the web said it is located under the hab floor somewhere.

The search continues....

I got a very helpful reply from Dennis - the technical guy at the Autosleeper Owners Club. He said that not all vans with this Sargent system have an external temp sensor fitted, only 'H' specification models. These models show an H after the version number in the control panel display. My one just shows v2.22.

As Guigsy mentioned above there is a 2 pin connector for the external sensor in the back of the control panel. This is next to the internal temp sensor. I've checked this and there's nothing plugged into it so this confirms my Cotswold EB doesn't have the external sensor. I guess I could fit one but I don't think I really need it.
