Ducato wiring

I’m looking to wire in a reversing camera to the reverse light on a 2015 Ducato simply by splicing into the connection in the rear taillight. Anyone know whether this is likely to affect the canbus system and throw up an error.

It didn't on our 2013 Peugeot boxer when I fitted additional LED reversing lights and reversing sensors tapped into the wiring to the reversing lights.

I did it on a 2008 model but not sure when canbus started to make things hard. Hoping someone with the details can help .

Our van is canbus as I had to fit ballast resistor when I fitted LED stop/tail lights.

Hello RGCH999 Spliced in to reverse light feed for an additional LED light and reversing cam on our 2018 Ducato with no issues. Did this approx 10 mnths ago and still fine.

I didn’t do it......but

I have only got one reversing light on my van but when I was looking under the back bumper, i noticed that my van appears to have a standard loom and on the opposite side light cluster area (where there wasn’t a reverse light) there was a spare 2 pin plug (Reverse + and ground -) which I was going to use to plug a set of reverse sensors into too.

As an alternative you could wire to your leisure battery and put a switch somewhere you can reach while driving. I have mine on all the time as it acts as a rearview mirror.

No it will be fine I recently fitted one to a brand new 70reg, no problems at all

I have a 2020 Fiat based Carado i339 that was delivered with no head set but with wiring looms ( see photos) I asked Connect2 for a installation kit but they query the red/black block so called the dealer and they only think it's for a factory fitted head unit. Can anybody confirm?. I am fitting a Pioneer DA250DAB which Connect2 say doe''s not require any other harnesses.
