Thanks to everyone for your help in trying to get my Kenwood 5260BT unit working as it should.

I’ve tried everything without success. Since I’ve never liked the unit that much anyway, I’m now thinking about replacing it. Probably with either the latest Kenwood DNX451RV or the equivalent Pioneer AVIC F80 DAB-C.

I’d like to pick your collective brains about two questions;-

1) Am I right in thinking that the units will be a straight swap, just removing and unplugging one and plugging in the new one?

2) Any views on preference between these units (or any candidates I may have missed)

I know I could use an iPad/phone/apps and/or separate satnav system but would rather get one unit that does everything including hands free phone/DAB radio etc etc.

Thanks

Chris

Going to be interesting fitting it on a Ducati

Be warey of the high current draw on Pioneer's they can draw quite a few amps in standby, if not isolated can flatten a battery overnight.

If you've got problems with current Kenwood unit might these just be replicated by a new Kenwood?

I bought yesterday

I’ve nothing as fancy as that but I’ve got the pioneer AVH3200 DAB and I can’t get the phone to work (everything works except I can’t hear the other person, they can hear me🤷‍♂️) I contacted pioneer who said it was summat to do with it running through rear pre outs instead of the front ones, I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THAT WOULD MEAN OR HOW TO CHANGE IT!!! So I’ve left it and just don’t use the phone!! Everything else is great!
Apple play is brilliant though👍👍

Did you manage to work out the difference between the GR and OE versions?

The difference is the wiring connector. The GR connects to standard IOS connector, but the OE version connects to a Fiat only connector, which I assume later models have, possibly ones with wheel controls

Ok. So I’ve made a purchase.

Expensive solution - but sick of trying to fix the crappy old unit and looking forward to all the new gadgetry...
