I'm a newbie
I am a newbie and apologise for this stupid question. An elderly relative is going to semi self isolate in our 2019 Adria 590 which will be hooked up in the drive. My question is: If she uses the Radio in the Ducato cab will that deplete the Ducato battery?

Do you need to have your ignition turned on for the radio to work? or do you have a little switch to turn your radio on without keys required?

If you need the keys it will be taking power from starter battery, and that may or may not be charged by the ehu. I would think it will be as it is on my older than your Adria. But if you are unsure just get a 240v plug in one.

Thanks for that.. The Adria will be hooked up to 240 and the Cab radio does not need to have the keys inserted in the dash..

I think different constructors wire up the radio in different ways and I have no idea what Adria do. On my Carthago the radio has 2 power sources. It can be powered from the leisure battery by switching on the entertainments switch on the 12v panel. When the engine is running it appears to be powered by the engine battery and powers up with the key.

Many thanks...thought it was such a simple question wgich leads to another..... If for arguments sake, the radio did drain the Ducato battery, because I am hooked up to 240 will that somehow automatically recharge the Ducato battery anyway?

Most modern systems provide a trickle charge to the engine battery when hooked up but the main charge goes to the leisure battery. If in doubt perhaps plug in a small mains powered radio.

Our Adria charged the Ducato battery as well as the habitation battery whilst on EHU and when running.

The radio switched on without the ignition being switched on. This was a 2014 model.

I'm sure you will be fine.

Not so relevant as my MH is 1999 but I have the toggle switch on my control panel - whichever battery I choose to power the HAB area receives the charge from HookUp.

Rather oddly, the radio on my Adria, switches off after a period of time but I think mine may be different as it is a Renault Master, with a Renault 'Entertainment' Centre.
I do not know if all Adrias have batteries linked together through an Electrobloc equivalent or a Battery Master. In which case there should be no problem.
