I've done a search, but not really found what I'm looking for.

I'm looking to see if I can fit a spare carrier for a Ducato Maxi 16" wheel in the middle of the motorhome, basically I have a Hymer B544 and the only space is before the rear wheels/axle.

There is no box/under chassis trays in this space, I spoke to a friend of mine who owns a garage but he says they normally go after the rear axle for access.

Without buying one I'm looking for someone who has one there already.

I have a dethleffs 7014 , 7.3 m long on Renault traffic base. I fitted a fiat lowering kit as a replacement for Renault cage, sits forward of rear axle, and has suffficient cable length to pull spare to side. Fairly easy DIY fix, beam carrier spans chassis members and is clamped in place with long bolts and fixing plates below chassis.
Techno did a detailed description with photos of similar installation.

I had (until 2 days ago) a 2005 B584 Classic on a Maxi chassis. The spare (that in 4 years I neither used nor removed) was just behind the axle on what I assumed was the standard Ducato carrier. There was a plastic plug in the centre of the van floor that exposed a hexagonal shaft used to lower the wheel.

On my Burstener the waste water tank is in the way of the original spare wheel carrier. I made one using electricians uni strut bolted to the chassis rails behind the rear wheels.Purchased a fiat spare wheel carrier from local dealers half a day job.
