If you are on a stop over without tools, a quick temporary solution is cut a long elastic band. Stretch it and as you do, wind it into the gap where the mirror pivots. As you release the tension the rubber expands so giving more friction i the joint. A long term fix is drill and stainless self tapping screw to permanently lock the arm. Down side is anything clipping the mirror will destroy it rather than fold it in
...have to push ours in every time we go out of the drive or back in, also usually put them in when parkwed at the kerbside in a town.

The more you fold the mirrors the weaker the spring becomes and the easier they self fold.

THe screw mentioned above below the top[ arem after removing covers is rock solid so looking likle yet another new mirror.

Unfortunately I can't read that blue writing.
Blue writing? It's a link to the thread mentioned with a fix for the mirror arm. A quick tip, if you can't read the text due to colour, highlight it and it will show in contrasting colour

Yes I thought of that after posting. Sometime after 3 weeks away you just want to get the l;ast hour home over with.
