Remove the 2 screws one each side of the cluster cover under the front corners, the back (windscreen side ) just clips in and requires a firm pull, then you will see 2 screws one either side of the cluster remove them unplug the connector and lift out.
Are you sending it to Cartronix? They did mine.

I suggest you contact a local FIAT Professional dealer and complain about the failure.

This is a well known fault and could be classed as an "inherent fault" from manufacture. Even though your unit is "out of warranty" it is worth pursuing.

See if FIAT are willing to help before spending any money. If you search on this Forum you will find that this is a very common fault. We have experienced it ourselves.

My cluster was replaced by Fiat even though the motorhome was a tear out of warranty. Talk nicely to Fiat Customer Services and see if they will play ball. Otherwise, as you say, it's a £150 repair bill - which it a bit cheaper than the £850+ for a new cluster!

Ours went this week, thanks to these forums it was identified as a common fault and resolved through Peugeot.

As others have said, may be worth while chasing it up as a manufacturing fault. They replaced to instrument dial on a straight swap,

Hope you can get the manufacturer to help.

lets face it, if it was a car and by any other manufacturer there would have been a recall. Fiat's suppliers used substandard LEDs to manufacture the binnacle and it is therefore a manufacturing fault

Looks like this a long time fault my 2015 model is having the cluster changed next week under warranty. You would think Fiat would have soughed this out London ago?

Surprisingly, I've seen reports that the replaced clusters continue to fail - repeatedly - as though Fiat haven't actually been able to resolve the original problem yet?

If you have an extended warranty please check that.
I found that the cluster on my 2012 Auto-trail was covered by it. I had the removal and repair carried out by my local Fiat Professional and Cartronics respectively, at no cost to me.
regards
Nik.

My symptoms came to light two or three years ago ! the mechanic who did the mot and service showed me the very dim red warning lights on the dash i must say that i had never noticed it myself ! i do not think it is a mot failure i regularly look now, not sure how long they stay on for but they obviously do not run the battery down,( i think it is two lights that stay on.)

Fiat refused to do mine under warranty because it had been tampered with (speedo dial changed to MPH). I made the mistake of taking to a local commercial dealer who had only just become Fiat Camper agents mine was the first Ducato based Motorhome they had seen they took photo's of the cluster and sent them to Fiat. My mate took his to another dealer they looked at the lights on and ordered a replacement & swapped the dials on the replacement.

They did ours at Fiat without any bother including changing the dials.

The fault on ours showed up when we engaged cruise control.

Several warning lights came on at half their normal brightness, it was more apparent in dim light, dusk/night.

The mistake I made was going to a dealer who had not dealt with Fiat or Motorhomes before, the reason I went to them is they were 2 miles away next one was 30 miles.

Yes understand @Lenny HB dealers are few and far between aren't they and some around here cannot deal with PHG vans either as their lifts are not strong enough.(y)(y)

I have a problem with the "average speed "reading on both "A and B" often says e.g. 1 mph. on my 2014 Swift Bessacarr. Anyone know of a cure or would it be replacement?

here you go ///Hi Everyone, i would like to introduce myself first of all, not only am i a proud owner of a 2014 FIAT DUCATO AUTO TRAIL FRONTIER Motorhome but i am am also the director of Cartronix. We are Specialists in repairing instrument clusters on motorhomes as well as other vehicles.

Two of our biggest customers in the uk are Motor home dealers. The Faults that have been described on these forums are extremely common and we see them every day.

Dimly lit LED warning lights and draining of the battery are the most common faults as well as the gauges sticking.

The LEDs Fail for 2 reasons, jump starting flat batteries and Cheap unreliable components.

Solution: We Replace all the LEDs with Superior European Quality ones and give a lifetime warranty.

The Gauges often fail when they dry out inside and seize up when the vehicles have been left over the winter months.

Solution: We Replace the Motors with upgraded European Motors which have a protective coating inside and again give a lifetime warranty.

We have a solution for all problems and charge a fixed rate of £150 inc vat to repair these instrument cluster faults.

We have a next working day Postal service if you would like to remove and send us your instrument cluster to us for repair or failing that if you fancy a trip to our workshop in Hampshire we can remove repair and refit your instrument cluster while you wait. Our telephone number is 02392 265986.

Hope to save you all some money and stress.

Happy Motoring.

Richard
