hi peeps the heater in my 2017 is poor on the drivers side i am thinking that it was designed for lhd as my wife says its hot on her feet has anybody else found this problem and have they improved the flow of hot air to the drivers side thanks in advance

is it an automatic as they have a foot rest type piece of plastic which blocks the outlet.. it can be moded there is info on doing that on tinterweb..

hi phill no its a manual but thanks

A bug bear of mine as well. I have found various things on the internet but no manufacture or after market fix. The blower output is much greater on the left hand side.
The only fix I have seen is a home made duct to redirect the air but I can't find the photo.

See other thread Ducato Cab Heater

I know this issue has been raised by a number of people. I have a fairly new Dethleffs Trend with the Ducato Comfortmatic, like everybody else no footwell heat drivers side. Have taken away the offending blanking shield but the outlet is quite high up behind the centre section of the dash such that the airflow is still fairly feeble. The chap showing the fix on U Tube pushed some corrugated pipes into the outlet to concentrate the airflow and bring it down to foot level. Dont know if his was an older/different vehicle but I can't push pipes into the outlet on mine because there is a temperature sensor mounted across the end of the outlet pipe. Seems to me that Fiat/Sevel (Bless em) must have another section of ducting that was there before the Comfortmatic blanking plate was put in. And would still be there on a manual or LHD vehicle. Can Anyone confirm or deny this supposition? If yes has anyone managed to buy the extra bit of ducting for the RHD drivers side ducting so that it produces the same lovely warm blast that you get on the passengers side

My 2007 Relay RHD self conversion blows out hot air to both sides of footwells ---only problem is a cold draught on drivers right leg !

I eased the sensor over to one side of the duct and pushed in a length of 40mm flexible pipe. I clipped the other end to the frame under the dash so the hot air blows out between the clutch and brake pedals. Definitely an improvement. Ours is a 2016 manual.

Thanks for that, I had assumed this was just a comfortmatic problem. If the manual hasn't got any ducting either I will have to try what you did and squeeze a bit of pipe up beside the temp sensor.

I started one of the general threads about the driver footwell heating problem on the X290 RHD comfortmatic models. Our van is a 2016.

Before that we had a X250 2010 manual model from new. Both footwells - driver and passenger - were toasty warm.

I think I understand what you are trying to do, but not sure I can offer any help beyond removing the driver's left footrest panel, which deflects the heat back up under the dash. It has improved things but not as good as the old van.
