Ducato gearshift X250 (1 Viewer)

2014 standard 6 speed.
Just started not springing back to the 3rd/4th plane.
I have to just gently guide it.
Tried lubricating at the top and bottom of the linkage, no difference.
Anybody got any quick diagnosis and fix?
Note, gears shifting normally apart from this.

Normally means new cables required. A Friend had the same problem spent ages trying everything without any luck but perfect after getting new cables fitted.

It' done about 30000 but it's used as a community bus do lots of gear shifts per mile.
If it's the cable say worn through the sleeve I would be surprised but it's plausible.

Friends one was 5 years old about same mileage didn't get much change out of £300 to get the cables changed

The one on my MH is also 11 years old (early x250) with 26000 miles and is perfect.
