Has anyone changed their small fuel tank for a larger one? I know weights and what have you, but the range is quite disappointing on the 2.8 Maclouis. If anyone can direct me towards a supplier I would be very grateful

How many miles are you doing to a tank full?

Where on earth would you put it? There isn't any extra space where the existing one is.

Google ducato long range fuel tank. Seems standard 85 litre can be replaced with 125 litre tank, think it might have been a fiat option.

An option when ordering the base vehicle from the factory.

Retrofitting one is likely to be a much less straightforward.

Thanks for the replies, £69 to fill after 25 miles on warning light, seems a small capacity tank?

    Possibly 60 litres then, 315 miles range = approx 23 m.p.g.

That might be why you have space then. If for some reason a smaller one than standard has been fitted you will have space for the standard 85 litre one.

Definitely not a DIY job though unless you know exactly what you're doing (y)

For that engine maybe . . if we get less than our current 36 m.p.g. average out of our Ford 2.2 in our MH I'll not be amused :)

I think my tank last year was 70-75L. Ist fill down France last year 417miles in A'trail Tracker, filled up 67.53L so 28.07mpg. Ok I had the 2.3 engine but I had a 2.8 years ago that gave over 30mpg on long runs. 315miles is very poor on any full tank and I would suspect a problem somewhere. Just my opinion.

I've been trawling through the forum and for a 2.8 Fiat 3500kgs 25 mpg seems fine ?
