I decided to replace the discs and pads on my van today and made a start on the front near side.
I was suprised to find there were no slider clips for the pads to sit in, all the youtube videos I've watched have them.
So I'm wondering if there should be some and if I can buy them and how would I identify the correct part ? Non came with the new parts.
The brakes have always appeared to perform well, no judder or squealing and have worn evenly, so maybe I don't need them or not essential ?
I just wondered what the thoughts of those who have done this job were.
The brakes are 300mm discs with Brembo twin pot calipers.
The pads were last replaced in 2018 by Dave Newall
TIA

It seems a bit early. How many miles has the van done and how many miles since 2018?
It's done 84k now and about 25k since the pads were replaced in 2018
Original discs I think so they were due to be changed

The disks do seem to have done good milage but there's always a minimum thickness figure that I would check before I replaced them.
If most of the mileage was on motorways they are not going to take much wear.

I didn't bother measuring them but they were quite worn so at 84k decided they were best replaced.
Been out today so not done the offside but it's my plan to do it tomorrow.
It'll be interesting to see if it has these clips, I suspect not.
That being the case I'll just fit the pads without them, I've done 30k miles without them so I think they must either be not necessary with these brakes or not essential ?

The autos are hard on pads, I got about 30k from a front set and 70k from the rear, discs were fine.....pad sets always came with the clips ....
