Hi Guys, I have recently noticed than when I hit a bump in my Talbot Autostratus (1990) that it seems to bounce for about 8 to 10 times. The feeling is a bit like when you ask a child to say ahhhh and pat them on the back to go a a a a a a if you know what I mean.
Anyone had a similar experience or have any ideas what may be causing it. She passed her MOT only 2 days ago.

If they are securely fixed and arent leaking oil they pass the MOT even if they dont work.

Our 1997 Iveco daily does that. Great lorry conversion. Just very good suspension, at least for us, floats along and bounces gently over bumps. Mind you guy before us put in great Saab touring seats!

agree its knackered shock absorbers. shouldnt be too expensive a job to get fixed

on cars, the MOT tester would do a bounce test by pushing down on each corner in turn and seeing how long it took to stop bouncing.
Dont know if its still applicable.

It should stop in one cycle...push down, bounce up and stop or stop on the next downward stroke at most.

Bit difficult with the size and weight of a motorhome though so its just a visual check.....no external oil and secure = pass.

I had a SAAB 9000 - best drivers seat I have ever sat in. All day comfort.

Absolutely amazing seats. Guy was an ex trawlerman/mechanic/lorry driver. Driving is a pleasure in these seats. He knew about driving!!

I think I had reluctantly come to the same conclusion. Was hoping it might be something simpler but hey ho. Looks like a trip to Quickfit or similar.

at 24 years old you MAY have trouble sourcing new ones.

You might need to remove on and use as a 'template' to find a similar size with the correct fittings at a motor factors.

Theres none listed on eBay.

Cant imagine quikfit keeping anything....but i could be wrong.
