Ducato 2.5 td gearbox issues (1 Viewer)

Hi all, I have problems with my gearbox, I have managed to get a second hand gearbox from a man clearing out his garage, it looks the same on the outside, apart from the linkage to the gearstick, mine has column change.
The linkage is removable so it should all fit.
I have been told they were made with 2 different types of dif with a 12 or 13 tooth pinion, is there a way to tell without stripping the gearbox.
Any help please.

only way is find out the ratios and turn it over count the revolultions on the drive shaft youll need to lock one side

As he says and yes you just take linkige of your gear-box and it will fit
bill

Hi, on further investigation it is a gearbox from a petrol engine version, the bellhousing is different, and the ratio is 5.1 not 5.6

Does anyone have a gearbox for my 2.5td ducato 290 1992 please

Why not have your gearbox rebuilt. They are firms that still do this.

Took it to our local rebuilder, found crown wheel has a tooth missing, bearings worn. He could not get any parts from his sources. Missing tooth did some other damage to other parts
None on ebay that fit it. Can probably find bearings but without the crown wheel it is probably best to get a good second hand one.
