Gear shift seems really stiff to get across into 5th from 4th. My left arm is aching. Can this be cured somehow, or is it normal? (Cue jokes about seeing a doctor. 🙂) It's a 2017, 150bhp 2.3 engine. Six speed.

Might be worth changing post to Ducato from a Ducati.
Know nothing about Ducatis, but having said that…….

Whilst lubricating the mechanism may sort out the problem you may want to check the engine and gearbox mountings, Older Ducato’s engine mounts are prone to wear and eventually giving up.

Hard to understand the fault being a cable. One cable rotates the selector shaft & the other moves it up and down. The shaft is lifted up & down as the lever moves across the gate and rotated to engage the gears. So the rotary movement and therefore the movement of the cable is the same no matter which gears are being shifted.

Yeah, autocorrect strikes again. Didn't notice straight away. Too late now, I think. Maybe I'll buy a Ducati in case anyone knows about stiff gear shifts on those?

Regardless of the year I would be checking those mounts, spraying some WD40 around may not be the answer
