Ducati /Citroen 6 speed g/box swop ?
Does anyone know if the 6 speed g/boxes around 2008/2011 are same/ interchangeable and can this be done while engine is still in van ?

I doubt it as the Ducato has an Iveco engine whilst the citroen has the ford puma engine afaik.

Cheers James

It’s not accurate to just say the Citroen has a Ford engine. It has the jointly developed engine by Peugeot/Citroen/Ford that‘s made in two factories in France, one in the UK and one in Sweden.
Ford were useless at car diesel engines until partnering up Peugeot/Citroen back in the 90’s.

The Ducato came with 2.2 (Peugeo/Citroen/Ford) and 2.3 (Iveco) engines, so I’d say probably to Chris51 question if it’s fitted with the 2.2, though having never done it, can’t answer the question.

I think your not quite right in that the Puma is a ford engine and not to be confused with the PSA 2.2 engine fitted in the 407 Jag xf etc.

When I got my transit I thought great it's the PSA engine used in the Jag, disco sport etc. Nope!!

Does the job but it sounds alot more agricultural, isn't anywhere near as refined as the VW cr engine or the Vauxhall / fiat 1.9 cdti.

I didn't know fiat used both engines though.

I did notice crossing the avonmouth bridge imports of the Seville vans were quite low.....

PSA/Ford have been jointly making Diesel engines since their tie up agreement in 1998. The Duratorq (Puma code name) came out in 2000.

The op needs to know exactly what engine he has. If it is the 2,2 ford/peugeot/citroen then I'm sure the 6 speed box fits in place of the 5 speed but I'm sure the gear selector cables also need to be changed as the gear change selector mechanism is different on the 6 speed as I have been wondering whether I cold change mine. If it is the aforementioned then there is plent of info on the Ford Transit forum.

** If it is the above engine it will also be chain driven & not have a cam belt.
