Dry squeak from steering (1 Viewer)

Hi Guys

2018 Ducato
Got a dry squeak coming from the steering rack at the front, either when driving straight on uneven ground or when turning the steering wheel.

Does it need a spray of silicone?

Edit - it’s got full air suspension

Dry ball joint possibly.
No lubrication option and give it time, it'll start knocking.

It won’t hurt.... for now.

But later find the cause and sort it properly with some grease...

Have you checked for oil leaks on the rack.
Or could it be one of the air suspension units squeaking.

Only ever drive in the rain, that should stop your dry squeak

I had a queak from our 2011 Ducato base a few years back, a squirt of silicon round the nylon(?) joint at the base of the steering column solved the problem, which, to date, has never returned.

Turn the volume of the stereo up...
