Hi - When I lower the bed on my Hymer it does squeak a bit as it comes down...……..Is this a job for the silicone spray that did an amazing job on my blinds or would something be better ?

Thanks
Jo

Got the tip on the silicone for the blinds by reading some old posts on here - amazing stuff - blinds up and down no trouble and one that only went 3/4 up now goes up fully - love it !

My dropdown bed used to squeak when fully up whilst travelling.

Used silicone spray on the pivot points and now squeak free :D

Remember that there will be people on here who might love to have a squeaky bed(y)(y).
My overcab bed makes weird noises at low speeds , can't find the source , does it with bed up or down.
Just watch the silicone spray it stays "wet" longer than WD40 , but does a better job imho.

My preference would be for a ptfe lubricant. Stays dry and does not attract dust, good for excursions and rollers.

Ours makes a lot of noise going up or down. I’ll give the silicone spray a try.

Ours also tends to drop a bit when going over a bump in the road - what’s the solution to that? Have to admit I haven’t actually looked to see how the mechanism works.

It is a simple enough job to retighten the plain nuts that hold the bed up however, doing that to mine then made it damn difficult to pull the bed down  so I re-slackened them again (y)

Ours has two short bits of sear belt straps and the attendant clips, which hold it in place.

Ours has a single seat belt strap at the back to hold it up, and two other straps to stop you falling out when it’s down, but it’s the front which falls down a little bit when hitting a big bump.
