Is your drop down bed hard to store ??? Does it try to come down when you are driving ???
I can solve these problems by replacing the struts in a safe and efficient manner .

If your a trader i think you have to register / join as such.
Jim will advise you

Where are you based ?

I have just replaced the struts on my own Hymer and know that everybody says it is a nearly impossible job , so I have made up some tooling to make the job easier and a lot safer and thought that maybe other people could benefit .
I am based in Dorset

Thats a useful service as they are difficult to do without something to compress the strut.
Mine only needed compressing about 5mm, but it might as well have been 5 metres.
Then a funster suggested attaching two large jubilee clips together and tightening, that worked for me but I doubt it would have compressed much more than 10mm.
Ratchet straps didn`t work at all.

Pretty much yes, I can't remember the name of the funster now but I'll look it up go and find his thread if you like.
On his advice I bought the biggest jubilee clips I could find on ebay and fastened them together. This was enough to tighten the screw on jubilee clip an compress sufficiently. But I only needed about 5 or 6 mm.
It helps to remove the Remis side blind if you have them, this will give you a little bit more room. Then push the bed up to the max and then a bit more, wedging it in place.
Tricky but it can be done, good luck.
I think my struts were 1700 Nu

Thx ..... it’s ok I’ve got the OPs thread.
Yep, these are the struts .... did you get the replacements from SGS ?

No I didn't need them, my problem was the big bolt / pivot at the front came undone.
I couldn't get it lined up without removing the gas strut. Once the bolt was reattached, of course the strut bolt hole was out of alignment, hence the need to compress it.

Be careful, I use SGS and generally rae their service , but I bought new for mine off their web site, they only list one for Hymer drop down beds, sadly my Hymer has a higher number, didn’t spot until swapped when the new ives were no better

check the number on your struts before ordering 👍 SGS will not swap once fitted and wouldn’t accept any fault and weren’t really interested to know their are different sizes fitted on Hymer beds 🤔

I haven’t got round to doing mine yet, but have got the right struts when I do get round to it, think mine are 2400
