i applied for my driving licence may 8th,My 70th birthday was in june 22 i am still waiting after so long, Was hoping to be setting off to spain on 25 october but not to be, We will after wait to see what next few week.geoff@chris atkinson

That seems to be an inordinate amount of time to wait-I would tend to ring DVLA and find out what's happening.
Have you had a medical and applied to retain all classes on your current license ? As you know,you will have to renew license every 3 yrs from now on-I am 75 and have never had to wait that long,more like 10 days.

Yes, a telephone call is in order, although they do say apply three months in advance. If you have a local regional office, you could enlist their help. I have always found the local office very helpful.

Mine was four months in the process, including the medical boys writing to my GP for clarification on a point, but all was well in the end.

With luck, it will be in the post, and all will be well.

If you have a local, try them first.
