One other useful one would be the French for radiator cap.
Why? Well this year I opened the bonnet only to discover that I'd lost mine ( I obviously forgot to replace it or didn't tighten it properly)
So that night I got out my dictionary trying to work out what it was called in French. In the end I just couldn't figure it out, after all it isn't actually a rad cap these days, it's a screw top on the expansion bottle... well you know what I mean.
So next day, off to the garage with the van and my dodgy French. Of course, following sod's law, they didn't speak English so I took the guy out to the van, pointed and said "c'est ne pas la!" (it's not there!)
But it worked! they got me one next day:Smile:
