Hymer S510.
Have removed the plastic insert on driver door LHD, and there is a steel plate with pre-drilled
holes for M5 machine screws, and a pre-drilled hole for cylinder lock, to fit extra deadlock. I believe that this was intended to fit an Abus 4010 lock. Does anyone have knowledge of of this, and how do we tidy
up the resultant hole with the plastic cover removed.
Stewart.

I have factory fitted Abus locks on the habitation & cab doors, just had a look they appear to sit on top of the plastic door trim.

Thanks Lenny,
The lock fitted to the habitation door sits neatly on top of the plastic trim, but if I fit a
lock to the drivers door, it will leave quite an exposed area. Just wondered if Hymer produced
a neat cover, or do I have to modify the original.

The deadlock on mine is hidden behind the décor panel. Means you can't unlock it from the inside but the one on the habitation door can be opened from both the interior and exterior.

Thanks Pete,
That is what my insert looks like. I can trim it like yours, and live with the fact
that I can only lock it from outside. If I was to make some arrangement to open
it from the inside, then anyone breaking the drivers window could easily reach
down and unlock it, defeating the purpose of fitting it.

Stewart.

We have the factory fitted abus locks on our Exsis I. I think the hab door has the trim simply cut and edged with a rubber strip but the drivers door has a replacement trim which fits around the lock. Can sort pictures tomorrow if you're interested?

A picture would be great. The lock is supposed to arrive from Germany this weekend, and I can potter with it next week.
