Does anyone have a medium-sized awning they would like to sell? Preferably £100ish.

I'm planning on doing some music festivals with friends in 2011.

Please pm me if you can help.

Happy New Year!

Oooo..thanks for that! I didn't realise they could be bought so cheaply.

I know people buy these and never use them, so thought I'd try for a second-hand one.

Happy New Year to you too :thumb:

Its really useful and we will probably keep it as it some times comes in handy. They are not too difficult to put up but you might need a bit of help.....

You could try PMing papajohn as he had one and now has an RV, not sure if he sold it or what he done with it.
If you go to a show you can get some right bargains. we paid less than £150 for ours new.,

Thanks for that, Peter - I'm not sure that would be big enough for a couple of people to sleep in though.

Hi Janine,I dont remember if you have an awning but if so what about a safari room, there are always loads for sale on ebay and they never make a lot of money.

Hi Janine,
You been hiding somewhere? Haven't seen you on here for ages.

Another source for awings is

Jeff Bowen Awnings
http://www.bowenawnings.co.uk/

He usually has a good supply of second hand awnings and some none-too-expensive new ones as well. He shipped a new awning to us a few years ago when our Harrison got blown to bits in Kerry. He had a new one to us in three days - a real star.

Aug 09 to date 9,000 miles!
I don't doubt anything with a steel frame won't be substantial but I don't think I would try and put a steel-framed tent up on my own. I hadn't used to be able to lift the bag one of our caravan awnings was in. Fortunately the van stayed on site for 6 months so it was a once-a-year event!

Can you guarantee you will have help every time, Janine?

Hi Jenny - you are right about the weight. Someone gave me a frame tent but I can't pick it up in it's bag! I had a vague notion of attaching a piece of fabric to it to make it into an awning to comply with CC & C &CC rules and regs.

The only time I will use the awning is when I've got friends who want to sleep in it, so they can put it up themselves.

Unfortunately I can't afford more than £100 at the moment.
