Well girls n boys here’s one I made earlier!! I actually made it about 6 months ago but we’ve only been able to test it properly on our trip to Anglesey on Friday for our mini honeymoon. (Got married on Friday!) It seems to be very stable and easily supports two full cans of (unopened!!) Boddingtons when negotiating some twisty bits on Anglesey. Also does a really good job with opened 330ml cans of coke etc. I got the plastic chopping board for 99p and the cup holders on fleabay for about £4 the pair. It fits our 2012 plate Ducato but I’m sure other drop down drawers are slightly different in sizes across the age/range of Ducatos. Anyway, things to note assuming you want to make one yourself... the handle of the chopping board needs to be cut off at a chamfered angle so it fits nice and snug on the bulge in the drawer for the drawer’s handle. The cup holders need to be angled slightly outwards from the centre to follow the contours of the top of the drawer. I cut off about a third of the bottom of the chopping board so that it sits neatly on a ledge at the back of the drawer, I cut a 2cm wide length off the discarded piece of the chopping board and screwed it to the underside to prevent the contraption from sliding forwards under heavy braking... It definitely works!! (Gave me a little scare that did!!) Folds away easily and fits into the drawer too.
Here are some pics... Don’t blame me if the contents of your drink end up in the drawer or all over your flip flops!!
