LHD Hymer exsis-i
2012 Hymer exsis-i with I think an EBL 99 fuse module. we normally use the van year round, but I'm now about to drain down the water for the rest of the year.
I thought the fuse for the water punp had to be removed to prevent the pump running when the water tank is empty. Is this correct?
If so which fuse is it on the 12v fuse block. Removing the one marked pompe doesn't stop the pump.

Isn't there an isolation switch for the pump, or at least for the 12v supply at the panel?

Good luck sorting it out.

Jock. :)

There is, but I thought that would isolate the solar panel as well.

I doubt it, ie, if the panel has been wired into the EBL properly, it should work away independently, and provide a small maintenance charge to the cab battery too.

If it has been wired direct to the leisure batteries, a CBE Battery Manager, or a Vanbitz Battery Master can be easily fitted between the two battery banks, preventing unwanted discharge.

Cheers,

Jock. :)

I have ebl99 and removing the fuse 10A and at one end of the row does stop the pump . There is no specific switch for the pump, but turning off the 12v at the panel will not effect solar charging unless yours is wired oddly. It is a microswitch system so as long as the taps are closed the pump won't run.

Well it should, has on all 3 Hymers we have had.

If the switch has a water tap symbol on it, it will just turn off the pump, the 2014 Exsis we had, had one.

If you turn off the control panel it will not affect the solar charge.

There is a plug & socket on top of the tank you can just unplug that to disconnect the pump.

If the tank is empty the pump won't run continuously if it's a microswitched system. It's not like a pressure switched system that would. However for winterising you should turn the taps fully on, and mixer taps fully on in the central position, so that would make a pump on a microswitched system run continuously. I don't know why the 'Pompe' fuse doesn't stop the pump, it does on every Hymer I've ever seen, maybe someone's bodged the wiring.
