    Just pitched an experiment
    4 x 1 litre Juice from Tesco
    1 lb 13 oz Sugar
1 x sachet Youngs all purpose white as thats all I had in the drawer

yes it will be sweet most likely a desert wine according to the sg.

I actually have the fruit in the freezer for the real thing but have too many brew on the go kick starting 2015.

I made a gallon brew with pineapple juice once, it was undrinkable for the best part of two years then suddenly it turned and was like a good sherry. We drank the lot in a week!

I seem to recall there was a beer named Dragons Blood I think brewed by Vaux. It was lethal stuff. When at college come Saturday used to get blotto on it

Ah, I remember Vaux beers, famed for tasting better on the way up than on the way down. Them were the days...

It appears that Tesco have got wind of this thread cos now anyone buying fruit has to be age checked why? Cos the fruit could ferment to make booze

There used to be a Yugoslav in Henderson that made his own red wine from Blackberries or Elderberries, The locals called it "Purple Death"
