Yes, thank you
No connection whatever with the garage other than servicing ( recommended) but John Handley Motors Boundary Road Fulwood Preston are now offering a DPF cleaning service. Its a full chemical clean and restore for around £250 -£300 get it to them before 10am and they do a same day service. Bit cheaper than you need a new one! Will post and return saving you a trip !

Considerably cheaper, we recently got quoted £3500 for replacement, but on further investigation, a dicky sensor!

There appears to be quite a few companies doing it around the country, a good idea. This is a company in Hull, maybe part of a chain.

Waiting for a quote on my 1986 Hymer on a fiat - hope it's not too much.... 🙄

£3,500 o_O Sounds a heck of a lot to me. Are you sure that's what they said?
Certainly was! We, including the receptionist, fell off our chair. This did include fitting! Was a Fiat professional garage. We’d spent money at another garage for servicing etc because the normal fiat garage costs so much, which was a non fiat and had to be low loaded from Cornwall, then it went into limp mode on every outing, in total 4 times so had to get a fiat garage involved again.

I expect they were including the waiting room 'experience' if you and the receptionist were on the same chair.

Lucky if I get a coffee and dog-eared Wickes catalogue to read at my garage.

Ford transit mk8 euro 6 dpf is about £3k thankfully it was the adblue injector instead!

Is a DPF the same as a turbo. Our Volvo keeps having odd tremors. The garage said hopefully a dicky sensor £80 or a new low pressure turbo £4000.

DPF Diesel Particulate Filter used in the exhaust system, Check the hoses in your Volvo are not leaking as they adversely affect the turbo performance they do deteriorate with age and Volvo (some models) are prone to perishing hoses!

Just replaced the DPF on our FM12 Volvo. £1400.00. The old one was clogged up. Needless to say NOT purchased from RIP Off Volvo!
