Living the dream.
As many of you know my very old friend very old-mo is selling his Vantage Neo, well he’s selling it to us.
I have just put our much loved Hobby 700 on sale in the classifieds, so can it be done? 5250 kgs to 3500 kgs 😳 over to you.

We went for a 36ft RV to a 6m Hymer once. It was easy, you just tend to carry one of things, rather than say 3 different BBQs and 30 pairs of ladies shoes! Nice little van the vantage, bit big for me now. I love 6m and under

Where will all the sheepsies go??????????

Not a hope, I suggest. :roflmto:
Nooooooooooo, not any room for sheepsies. My darling carer will have to take up cross stitch as it takes up far less room 👍

Well, i have a 6metre 3.5 tonne moho (see picture) double floored so no shortage of storage and seats four with belts and sleep four. No oven (why do others need one i can't fathom but that is a personal thing). Depends on what you must have and what you feel you can do without if push comes to shove.

Weve downsized from 7.6m to 6.8m. Not a lot, only noticeable smaller in the kitchen and shower but still adequate. We did it to get down to 3500kg rather than size, however the 3ft less means it fits on our drive rather than overlapping the pavement. We keep it in storage but it visits home quite often.

Of course We went from 11m - 9m in 2018 and are shortly going from 9m - 7m

Mind you we did that years ago and went back up to 12m ;)

We haven’t actually got our van yet but we have just done that parting with the big van in April 21 and chose an Adria 640SLB, for a number of reasons. We are certainly going to have to make some compromises but we are confident we can do it in that particular van layout & design, just waiting for it to eventually arrive now.

Just dropped the price a bit after a chat with some trade lads.

We are downsizing from a 5.75 coachbuilt with lots and lots of cupboard space to a 5 metre poptop.
Somehow we have to get all this stuff (currently covering every surface in our dining room into the new camper 😳.
Either it has to have elastic sides or we are going to be ruthless with what’s going in it. 😂. I suspect it’s going to be the second option.

We downsized from an 8-4m Frankia to a 6-4m Frankia. didn't have to lose too many tools. Main thing was we decided to stop towing a toad. Visit more places in van now

We downside from 7.4 to 6 doable but takes a bit of getting used to.

We downsized from a Frankia A Class 740 Plus at 7.4 metres to a PVC at 6.36. Bit of a challenge with 2 dogs but definitely workable. We don't regret it at all.

Can it be done? Yes of course it can, would I? Not a cats chance unless I had to 😏

We had a 6m vantage panel van for 8 years and are keen cyclists and walkers so carry a fair amount of kit for our hobbies. We didn't have a problem but we did over time invest in some boxes to fit into cupboards to make it easier to access stuff.

It is very easy to carry a lot of spare stuff in a van ‘just in case’ , when you have less space you have to decide what you really need with you in order to enjoy your time away. There are always shops for if you are missing something .

I think it is quite exciting to have a new van and a new thinking on what you need to take away.
