We went for a walk along Dover front this morning and noticed new parking signs, we checked the parking meter and found this

So it's now £10 for overnight parking and we can't park there during the day in the MH any more.

I will be emailing Dover DC and asking for their reasoning in banning MHs from daytime parking.

In Folkestone you cannot park overnight at all now on the Seafront.
Suggest for a night stop the old A20 Capel Le Ferne

Having never been to Dover and probably never going to go. Could it simply be that motorhomes take up too much space during the day which is likely to be the busiest time for cars wanting parking space? There could quite easily be six or seven cars parked where four motorhomes park

There is a massive amount of parking along Dover front and the only time I've seen it full was when we were allowed out last summer and everyone hit the beach, we are often the only MH parked during the day. There are sometimes a couple parked for the sea swimmers which is a large, extremely popular group so they won't be able to park either. When ferry travel was allowed there would sometimes be up to a dozen MHs & caravans parked overnight, hence the new £10 charge.
