I am considering putting a small locker door inside my main garage door. When my awning is up I cannot open the main garage door. Having a smaller door within the main door would make the garage accessible. Has anyone ever done this? I am more concerned with the weight of the door on the current door material. I have seen this done once so the garage becomes a pet kennel.

Any xtra weight would only be the plastic frame as your new door panel will be made of the bit you cut out

Will a Thetford toilet door frame work size wise, they are easy to cut out and fit?

Many industrial doors have a pedestrian door built within the main door, same principle. Might be slightly easier door to jemmy open. Perhaps the Thetford gas locker [ size 4 ?] door, but on the other side of the van?

Could you maybe "re-hinge" the existing door to open the other way or will it still foul the awning?
