I had one last year.It was either make a crossing, close it, or top it up .if you can elect to keep it open i didn't see that last year?What’s the big deal? I had the same email a couple of weeks ago, just go online and confirm you want to keep the account open, job done.

No I don't so as I also had a balance but it was below the £10 minimum threshold.Perhaps it was because those of us who did opt to keep it open had a balance on the account?
write to their Customer Services Department. Email: customerservice@dartford-crossing-charge.service.gov.uk requesting money owing to be refunded. You will need to tell them the vehicle numbers registered on the account; who the refund cheque should be made out to and your full postal address.Just checked email sent in sept but I didn't see it so account now closed.
