We have enjoyed our Elddis but will not have another one as we are so disappointed with the company. If you don't have an accident the motorhome is lovely but beware if you need repairs which need replacement panels don't hold you breath. We are now into the eleventh week of waiting for panels and a new habitation door! This has now put the tin lid on going to a Christmas meet.

I think you will find a wait of 6 months plus is industry standard for the kind of parts you describe.

Give it a few months and you will probably wish they had written it off!

Well it certainly sounds serious to me !!

BUT !
To be fair..................

Apart from the odd manufacturer I bet most other firms would be about tghe same..

The various models are so short lived I doubt any firm can keep all the panels for all he models 'on the shelf', so will be making and moulding you new parts for you more or less as a one off..

There is no reason to believe any other custom maker would be better. These things are hand built and they won't carry a stock of panels, you'll be in a queue with the rest of production I would think.

That does not make it any more pleasant for you of course.

Back in 2003 our Autotrail scout got smashed, only 18 months old.. Took 6 months for a new side panel... So sounds about right...
They only make a small number of each model van, a drop in the ocean compared to cars.. So if they have panels and a choice of using it to build and sell a new van or let you have it... You can guess who will win....

In 2008 I hit the rear skirt on our 2003 Rapido. Brownhills had one (at least) in stock. Perhaps they are not so bad as some folk reckon?

A lot of water under the bridge since then............
Cheers, Dave(y)

We "only" had a 6 week wait for the rear and side skirt panel we needed from autosleeper last year.

Good luck, I hope you get yours sorted to your satisfaction.

Don't have an accident in anything have a look at the Youtube - crash testing motorhomes.

we had a similar problem earlier this year after a break in, 2008 swift kontiki and the habitation door is no longer available but swift guarantee spares for 8 years, so don't trust guarantee. the repairer also had the same problem with a hobby
