I dismissed the car park on the grounds of, surely if he could get in and out of there he would've done, perhaps I was giving him to much credit.

Maybe the driver was trying to accumulate a hand full of traffic offensives, parking on the pavement, parked opposite a side road, too close to a side road going into Mac Donald’s , obscuring safe exit from the side road.

Luckily enough I carry the dogs food in the van so this would be my back up plan if I run out of food, after that I could probably go 5-6 extra days without food before I was desperate enough for a McDonalds

Burger King, apart from having far nicer (flame grilled) burgers also have superior and more spacious car parks given they attract a better class of clients.
