Dometic RMD 8505 no power (1 Viewer)

Hi have an AES Dometic RMD 8505 fridge in Hymer A Class. After lying up for 18 months fridge will not switch on. Cannot find any blown fuses. All other circuits in van are working. Are there any hidden fuses for fridge or any in EBL that would control it? Would it advisable to take 230v connection directly to fridge to see if it would power up? If so where would I connect to at rear of fridge. Any help greatly appreciated.

Is it totally "dead", ie the light doesn't come on when you open the fridge door?
Yeah, I know it's a stoopit question but ........
We had a problem with the control panel(?) - no lights on it - but the light inside worked. Fixed under warranty (thank G*d!).

If the fridge has been connected with the current uk regs, then there should be a fused 3 pin plug into a socket.
This is how ours was fitted last year.
Take off the vent cover and have a squint inside for the plug and socket, if its there, then check the fuse in that plug as well.

Totally dead could be one of the pcb’s
There are two
We had one go which was replaced under warranty. Think they’re a few hundred pounds each

I would remove lower external vent and check with meter that 12v dc is on back of fridge, the thinner control 12v supply, not the thick wires with 12v for the element when engine is running.
There is probably a connection block labelled 12+, 12- and D+, with thin wires in each, this is where to check.
The fridge controls and brain are run by 12v.
If you have power there then make sure all plugs are secure and fully home on the pcb inside the black plastic box at bottom rear of fridge.
If no 12v then you will need to check why it is missing, ebl fuse etc.

The fuse for the electronics on the fridge is a 2 amp blade fuse in the fuse block beside the EBL it is not in the EBL.

Frustrating problem with fridge on Gas - Dometic RMD 8505

The Fridge on our van, a 2010 Burstner Solano has worked properly for the 15 months we have had it until now.. I had to uncouple the gas bottles in the locker and then re- connect them. Bled the gas through the hob no problems, so cooker and heater work fine on gas . Fridge works on 12v and...

We had a similar problem with our Dometic 8505 although we couldn't switch it off, turned out to be a corroded connection on the bottom PCB that i had replaced a few years prior
