When switching to Gas the fridge won't work. The orange light is flashing but no ignition. I have changed the gas burner, valve and the grey control box, still won't light. Anyone had this happen before. Appreciate any help

does the igniter spark, on ours it would not light on gas, got the wife to turn it on had the bottom vent cover off, as soon as the ign started clicking gave the gas solenoid a sharp tap hey presto gas!

I had similar in Belgium recently....got home and blew out the jet with my air line....tried it...it was sparking.... then checked the gas valve terminals a clean...refitted and tried....still sparking..... then started the sparks again and tapped the valve as Bessy above did with the screwdriver head and there it was.....fired up..... dunno why mine happened....thought it might be down to autogas but then it's worked fine ever since........ good luck

Hi Jon, no it's not sparking. It worked fine after the fridge had all those new parts. now the light is just flashing on auto or set just on gas?

If youve tried turning it off and back on again and its still not sparking its unlikely to be gas valve, got to be on the electrical side, bad connection somewhere? Have you tried wiggling the connectors on the burner control while it should be sparking?

On my old MH the Dometic 7655 fridge was a nightmare until I called out the Dometic engineer who spent sometime on the fridge.

One of the issues was the electrical connections and especially the electric block where all the connections are near the burner. He stated that this was a design issue. He checked the connections and then wedged a small plastic wedge beside the block to ensure the connection was good (once he had checked the connections)

Refer to my old thread for pictures and issues resolved.

Good luck!

That's my next job on the weekend. Try all the connections. I'll let you know how I get on. Thanks for your help

Finally got the fridge going. It ended up being a new relay.

Fridge update, I tried all the connections no joy. Ended up changing the relay at the back of the fridge. Thanks for all your advice

Without trying to hijack this thread, I have the same problem, but also the cooker situated above it is not working (igniter sparking but no gas), so I'm pretty sure it is a gas supply problem.
So, my question is, can anyone recommend an engineer in the Bridgwater area to give my system a check over and get it all working again?
Thanks in anticipation! In the short time I've been here I've never been let down by you funsters!

Trouble is that all the good ones are so busy. I phoned a mobile guy recommended by a Funster in the North Bristol /South Glos area for my non lighting oven, which does spark, only to be told he is working on dates from the end of July.

Yes, heating, hot water and gas rings all working fine (all on the other side of the moho), new Gaslow system installed by VanBitz last month. I'll have another check in case there is an isolating valve on the b.s.fridge side of the van too.

Riverbankannie,
I can imagine they are! Just have to find one and "wait my turn" I can live without the oven and gas to the fridge at the moment just by using EHU, but having spent a fortune on solar, an additional battery (Lithium is a future purchase, if/when I can afford it), inverter etc, just looking forward to going "off grid"

A quick but of research shows a chap who made the finals of the Approved Workshop of the Year 2022 is local to me, so I've sent him an email🤞

Same happened to me in Portugal last year read a couple of forums hit an object at back of fridge wit a blunt instrument no worked OK problems since

Just back from 4 days down the coast here in Spain. Dometic fridge worked on gas for 2 days then started flashing red, and would not come back on line. All other gas appliances OK. Switched to hook up and all well with the fridge. On the final day tried the gas again and it now works! Our local man suggests that the control panel may have condensation causing the problem so we will monitor the usage. Cleaning the jets made no difference.
