Hi all. Experiencing a problem with our Dometic fridge/freezer. The freezer side is working but the fridge is not. This is on all three energy supply modes. The only difference I can see is that ther is a temperature sensor for the fridge and not for the freezer. Could this be the problem? If so does anyone know which way round the sensor works normally open when temperature reached or closed and does it switch a valve or relay?
Have seen the Dometic full service manual as posted by namwaldog back in May of 2018. Although it says it covers my model none of the diagrams seem to match up.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have vent grill covers fitted?
If so these should be removed as they cause the temperature behind the fridge to rise and affect performance

Not an answer I know but may be of use.. I have the RMD 8555 and I have always wondered if the thermostat controls the whole unit ie fridge and freezer. However logic dictates (to me anyway) that the freezer should always be at max regardless of thermostat setting and the thermostat only controls the fridge part.
If that is so then your problem could be freezer is working as intended and a duff thermostat is stopping the fridge coming on.
Just a thought but may be your issue..

No we don’t have grill covers but thank you for your reply. It’s started to work again so I think it’s to do with the fridge temperature sensor

thanks for your reply. I am in full agreement with you about the temperature sensor. Frustratingly it has started to work again which is great for us as we are in Spain at the moment but think I will get some freezer packs so we can at least keep milk chilled if it plays up again

Sometimes I think it is more worrying when a problem self sorts itself as i would always be waiting for a reaccurance. Anyway best of luck and let me know if you do find an answer to my theory
