What's the power consumption like for these units.....is it always going to need ehu?

I will be running on EHU mainly. Unit requires 950W on cooling mode. I have 4000W inverter and a fair battery bank but not going to run off that unless desperate. Can run fan on its own as extract which is low power.

I don't know what size that is, is it the 3200? we have the 2200 in a much bigger A class and can run it on batteries for a good few hours as the compressor cycles and in your van I think it will spend quite a lot of time off so only using power for the fan.

How loud is it? My last MOHO had air-con but it was so loud we didn't use it much

Thanks for the info. It is the 2200, same as yours. Good point, it only takes a few minutes to cool the inside of the van then it cuts or slows down

Very quiet, i have it over my fixed double bed and think on low would be ok to sleep with.

If the compressor uses a variable speed DC motor, I will be very surprised if it will draw 950w for to long, It will modulate down with the stat requirements.
What’s the draw on yours funflair?

How much does it weigh?

Ours is the fresh jet but basically the same without the skylight feature, I run the fan on No2 usually and it pulls an intermittent 50 or 60 amps from the inverter, it may run the compressor 50% of the time and if it is really sunny we are getting a peak of 40 amps from the solar so not really taking much from the LiFePO4.

I've got a dometic freshwell 3000 under bench kit in my garage , do you mind me asking which inverter you're using , dometic make a kit so this one can be used on the move but it's £1800 which won't be happening

Good point. I have decent solar also !! This is all good news ! Was thinking of upgrading to LiFePO4 next.

Not 100% sure of the inverter make as my electrician fitted it for me. Seems to cope well with kettle, toaster, microwave etc though.

We have a Buttner combi inverter/charger with network compensation which came with the van, the advantage of the network compensation bit is that on hook up you can set it to say 3 amps incoming from the hook up and then switch on the inverter and electric kettle and it will pull the extra power from the batteries and then recharge them when they are idle assuming there is power spare from the 3 amps incoming, it also handles off grid demands and will run the air con as we drive via the 90 amp B2B.

Thanks
I was looking at this one , I'll have to find somebody to fit the whole thing in any case

We have the same fresh light fitted on our 7m Mercedes’ van conversion, runs fine off our 2000w nds inverter and 200amp nds lithium. We have it on for an hour or so pre bedtime in the heat.

Looks great👍👍 wish I had room for one🤬🤬
