It seems that Dometic, the fridge people, are trying to assemble one piece doors, badly. After chatting to many new motorhome owners it appears that these state of the art doors are dropping to pieces. Friends are experiencing locks breaking and blinds ripping out after very little use. On return to the dealer Dometic were silent until this week. They are now pleading guilty and are having to reset the tooling to make the components last. The main problem is that these doors are a sealed unit and any internal breakage cannot be repaired. A new door painted and fitted will set you back close on £1000, oops. So if anyone out there has been fobbed off with excuses they now have a legitimate claim, good luck as some people have been waiting over 3 month.
When will motorhome buyers ever be told the truth. It appears we are still lied to and ripped off on a regular basis. The whole trade is to full of sharks and ex back street dealers with a sprinkling of honest tradespeople.
